Yes, conversation, and I managed to

liberate a notebook. For my purposes.

I don't see how I can avoid it, at this point. My entire career has your name on it.

Mine too. That’s because we made Hextech together and it’s our whole career. I definitely didn’t have anything before that. Outside of being arrested. I love telling people that’s how we met. They look so surprised.

[techmaturgy]

[There's something unkind to be said here, about how Viktor is sure he'll only be a footnote in Jayce's eventual storied biography, despite all the reassurances, but things are going well. He doesn't need to ruin it for the sake of his own slightly bruised pride.]

Have you been telling people about how we met?

Yeah, they've been asking. To be fair, we don't make a lot of sense at first sight, so explanations sometimes have to be had.

That's their problem, not ours. I simply let them wonder.

Yes, entertaining to laugh about, years later. What else have you been telling our new friends?

What exactly am I supposed to say when they ask how we met and became partners? What's the problem with sharing how we became a team?

There's no problem. I think fondly of that night. I just know that you have a tendency to over-share.

I do, yeah. I don't have much of a filter. I talk a lot about our work and about you. But that's always been true.

[ Jayce talked about Viktor all the time back home too. It's just that Piltover had this incredible ability to filter out every mention he had of his Undercity partner and focus on the rest of what he was saying. They're the worst. ]
