The first night he properly spoke to Jayce was when Viktor first realized his new partner was a tactile person. It took some getting used to, as Viktor decidedly was not someone who offered his personal space readily, but of course Jayce Talis and all his good natured warmth ended up an exception.

(If Viktor is being honest it's less an exception and more Jayce is the only one who has managed to sneak past his barriers, the only person who really even tried, and in doing so Viktor begrudgingly grew to like Jayce's warm palm on his shoulder from time to time. How very like Jayce to wheedle his way through Zaun's careful conditioning and leave him actually missing when Jayce would move his hand away. Ridiculous.)

So yes, he accepts Jayce pulling them under an awning with a huffed sigh at the weather, more focused on making sure he didn't lose his footing on the way over. It's only when Jayce doesn't pull away that he blinks up at him, the furnace of a man.

"I am not going to freeze," Viktor replies, the lack of sharpness and then the subsequent shudder giving away the statement is nothing more than performative stubbornness. With another soft sigh he gives in, even allows himself to lean against Jayce's chest somewhat, soaking in more of his damnable warmth and easing the burden on his bad leg. Better rest now then be cramped up when they can run for it, right? It sounds like a weak excuse for wanting to stay close even in his own mind.

"Every page?" he asks, glad for something to focus on as his brow quirks. It's a joke but somehow he wouldn't be surprised at all to hear Jayce say yes. "You're absurd, as is your natural body temperature. We will not even need a space heater in the lab come winter."
