"We never do know what may or may not be useful here." Jayce does like the stories and while most of the time they are of no use, they spark his interest and maybe some day it would be. After all, it was Jayce's own arcane story that led to where they were. He and his mother almost became lost in snow, his young life snuffed out before his mind could accomplish anything, and then there was magic. It all connects in the end. He wonders if he would ever meet the person who saved them, if they were even still out there.

The rain isn't a concern just yet, but it is starting to get on his nerves. He considers turning back to go ask the noble for an umbrella, but it is positive the man will talk his ear off for another half hour if he does. So they'll just have to make do. He does pick up the pace a little bit, but one that he knows Viktor can keep up with, they've worked together long enough for him to know these details. As oblivious as he can be, he remembers specific things well.

"You make a good point." No one thought magic would be not only useful but necessary. Jayce hid his own research because of how it would be frowned upon. "I learned not to talk about what happened to me when I was still a kid." His mother was one of the first to try and shush him, afraid of how people would react to her son rambling about magic and teleportation. "Do they ever talk about it in the Undercity?"
