The alternative would be to give up, and Viktor isn't ready for that, both because of all the things he wants to do, and the new future that's laid out in front of them. He isn't going to abandon it so easily, not when they're finally removed from all distractions and only have each other. He believes in them--in their ability to do the impossible, and their ability to solve this.

Viktor can't say that watching Jayce do a little heavy lifting was unappealing, so by the time they've finished their various chores and return to the bedroom, he already has some ideas percolating. To start, however, he's content to settle back into each other's arms, lacing their fingers together and continuing the conversation where they left off in the kitchen.]
