[Viktor proceeds whether Jayce joins him in the bathroom or not. The tub isn't big enough for both of them to get in together, especially not when Viktor actually has to get clean, but he wants to make it clear that there are no more boundaries between them--no more lines they have to be afraid to cross. He's almost casual about the way he pulls off his pants, and then his boxer shorts, casting them onto the bathroom floor so he can ease himself into the water. Jayce watches every motion and he can't help but feel a little smug about being so openly wanted.
The temperature is good, and he hisses a little as he sinks down into the tub, wasting no time in scrubbing some of the water over his face. It feels good. Relieving. Like all of the tension is melting out of his body.]
You should've just done it, honestly.
[He has no idea if he would have reciporicated. Viktor hitched his academic wagon to Jayce's at extremely high risk--without any clue if they were even compatible. As co-workers, as friends. Hearing that Jayce was smitten with him from the very start is unsurprising, having him say beautiful gets him to scoff. Flattery's never worked on him, and though Viktor is not at all in denial about his own attractiveness (there were plenty, back in the day, intrigued by the Dean's Assistant), but he knows that the last few years has done him no favors. Jayce has seen him shirtless plenty of times, but this will be the first time he's fully laid himself bare--showed the extent to which he's been ravaged by illness.
If Jayce wants him anyway, well. He's not going to complain. The last thing he wants is to be seen as fragile, so he decides to make this as casual as he can, and draw as little attention to it as possible. He leans back, appraising Jayce with a small smile.]
I don't know how I would have reacted. I took a big chance on you, if you recall.
