Viktor rolls his eyes, though of course it's entirely fond. He can't hide it, anymore, not after everything they've been through together. Things that are important to Jayce have become extremely important to him, too, and even independent of that, Viktor finds himself valuing these markers of time deeply. First, because he wasn't sure how much longer he'd have to enjoy them, and now because he knows he has all of the time he wants. They'll mark these anniversaries again and again. The future that Jayce imagined for them is becoming real, and Viktor is finally starting to believe it, too.
He thinks Jayce will always treat him delicately, and it's true that even discounting his illness, Viktor is more fragile than most. He still expects, at some point, a gradual physical decline independent of what they've just cured him of--he'd graduated from a cane to a crutch during the time they'd been professional partners, after all, and over the years he's needed more support from metal and leather contraptions. That isn't going to change, and might, in fact, get worse as he gets older, but it's not going to kill him. He'll be able to get older in the first place. That's the most important part.
And he looks better, and feels better, a testament to their cure. Long nights spent working on the tracking system and worrying over the missing haven't exactly done him any favors, but he's sure that Jayce has noted him put on a little weight, the hollows of his cheeks softening as they fill out, the dark circles under his eyes starting to fade, even slightly. He has more of an appetite, as evidenced by the fact that he's suggesting breakfast. He's ready, obviously, to make love again, though he'd certainly done his best up until the point everything became too exhausting and painful. Then, his recovery and the kidnappings...all of this is overdue.
Suffice to say that he should have expected Jayce to immediately derail, and he's not even sure he can resist. Viktor shivers at the mouth on his neck, even as he's warm under the blankets and in his improvised pajamas. The shirt is so large it reaches almost to the middle of his thighs. Underneath, his usual pair of briefs.
"If you start now, you won't be able to stop yourself." As in, it's never just a little taste. Viktor offers a pout of his own, not that anything will happen if they delay breakfast by a half hour. He has no real argument, especially not when Jayce has decided that he needs to seek out every mark and freckle, starting from the top. "But, I suppose it is your birthday."
Which means that Viktor can't really argue against Jayce deciding what he wants to do. Those are the birthday rules, or something.
