Waking up next to Jayce in the morning has always offered him a little thrill, one that never gets old, but given his literal new lease on life he finds himself enjoying it that much more. To wake up every day without the specter of death hanging over him is a gift he hasn't fully processed yet, but he knows that he enjoys the lack of urgency and vague sense of dread. All of this is his, for as long as he wants it, and there's no fear of losing it anymore. He's still adjusting, but he certainly likes it.

He likes this too, leaning over Jayce first thing and kissing him gently-but-incessantly until he wakes up. Once he is awake, Viktor offers him a slightly deeper, more drawn-out kiss, morning breath be damned. They've been together for the better part of a year--he's not going to start now.

"It's an important day," he says, slightly cryptically, as if allowing Jayce the opportunity to guess, though he doesn't leave much room for him to do so. Viktor looks a little mischievous, gold eyes backlit with the sunrise that creeps through the window. "One year ago, you found me on the streets of Cadens."

A bit melodramatic of him, but the occasion seems to suit it. A smile pulls at the corners of his mouth as he leans in for another chaste peck. "Happy birthday, Jayce."
