He understands, fundamentally, that Tony does not actually want him to die--Viktor just rankles at the idea of being something to figure out, rather than a person who is just trying to find a way to live. And the thought that Tony knows better than either of them about what to do and how to do it, well. That's a matter of pride. He'll get over it, especially now that he's weathered the consult in question, but it's not going to stop him from voicing his displeasure with regards to how it came about.
But, there's no real reason to keep talking about Tony and his various fraught relationships with old teammates. What he discussed with Strange is imminently more important.
"I'm concerned that what we need to do may be more...invasive. Than what I originally planned."
Maybe this is his nice way of asking if Jayce would be ready to handle something like that, when the time comes.
